Potchefstroom Nursery School had its annual Big Walk to raise funds for its playground upgrades at President Pretorius Primary School on 16 April.
The programme of the day included class dance items, class races; fun activity stalls such as face painting, hair spray, jumping castle, Play Station and photos at the Army’s Rooi Kat vehicle. For the adults, there were mom and dad races, tug-of-war and sack races. To end the joyful day, the fire brigade arrived, much to the excitement of the delighted children.
According to the school principal, Anika van Heerden, the day was a big success and the organisers would like to thank their sponsors for the support: Tlokwe City Council (medals), Harcourts, CX Fitness, Vision Works, Bestelnet, Newstruct, Zigmart, Blommewinkeltjie, Bult Pizza, Senwes and Body Fuel Express.
Potchefstroom Nursery School is a well-known privately-owned school in Potchefstroom. It has been serving the Potch English-speaking community for more than 20 years. Since 2014, there has been a baby class for babies from 3 months of age. In addition to all the other age groups, they also have a growing grade R class.
Anika says their method of teaching is learning through play by using the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS).
“We strive to develop our children holistically by giving them the necessary life skills as well as academic skills to thrive in the future,” she concluded.
