A 27-year-old gang member allegedly kidnapped, locked up and raped a teenage girl from Greenfield for three days last week. The Ikageng police have since arrested the suspect.

According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the 17-year-old says she was on her way home at about 20:00 on Monday when three men forced her to go to an unknown place in Greenfield. ‘One of them raped her for three days in succession while keeping her locked up in a shack,’ she said. Upon their arrival, they set a piece of tyre alight and burnt the victim’s hand with it.
‘They told her she could be the queen of their gang. They took the ash from the tyre, dipped a needle into it and began tattooing the back of her two fingers. They threatened to kill her if she removes the tattoo,’ she continued. ‘On Wednesday, she begged him not to lock her up again and she managed to flee when the suspect went to buy a cigarette. She then reported the case to the police,’ Trom said.
The Ikageng police are investigating a case of kidnapping, rape and assault GBH (grievous bodily harm).
