The country’s top junior tennis players gathered for some scintillating action in the 2018 Growthpoint Masters this weekend (5–8 October) at the Riaan Venter Tennis Academy (RVTA) on the NWU’s Fanie du Toit Sport Grounds.
Eight players in the boys and girls u.12, u.14, u.16 and u.18 age groups qualified for the tournament, which was played in extremely hot weather.
The players adapted well, with the talented Christiaan Worst (u.18), Khololwam Montsi (u.16), Devin Badenhorst (u.14) and Jordan Georgiev (u.12) taking the respective boys singles titles.
First seed, Tamsin Hart, took the u.18 title with Megan Basson (u.16), Heike Janse Van Vuuren (u.14) and Jani Steyn (u.12) taking the other singles titles up for grabs.
