Police find man’s body in pool of water

The Ikageng police are investigating an inquest case after they found the body of an unknown man in a pool of water in an open veld between Promosa and Ext. 7 last Friday.

According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the police arrived at the scene at 10:45 and found the body floating in the water.
‘The man was barefoot and wearing a black T-shirt with black trousers,’ she said. The emergency services arrived at the scene and declared him dead. They handed his body over to the pathologist to determine the cause of death.

The police are also investigating a murder in Eyethu Street in Ext. 7 at about 06:00 on Sunday morning.

According to Trom, the police arrived at the scene to find the body of a 40-year-old man, Gibson Maletsoa, in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to his neck.

The EMRS (emergency medical response services) personnel had already declared the victim dead.
